Cheap as all get out.

If you don't know it yet, I just want to let you know, WEDDINGS ARE EXPENSIVE AS CRAP. the end. No matter how hard you try - it's ridiculous how much money is costs to get married these days. The only way to avoid it is to do city hall and have a nice little intimate dinner with family/friends. Since I'm cheap as hell, I've been trying to find ways around it and still have a nice ceremony and party.I've been using etsy.com a lot to find nice personal things for our wedding that aren't so expensive but still have that hand-made with love feel. I ran into a road block when I couldn't find a nice cake topper for our wedding cake. My favorite one was this from lollipop workshop:It's absolutely adorable...but also $165.00! As cute as it is - it's also JUST A CAKE TOPPER! I figured I could make something along those lines. Granted the amount of detail is amazing and it's probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen but I just can't imagine shelling out that much money for a non-key wedding day item.

So here's what I came up with after a quick trip to A.C. Moore:

I'm pretty pleased. It also only cost about $20. All made out of wood and paint. I put a little brown button on the side of my head for my bun and cut down a fake flower for my hair. I'm thinking about getting a wooden circle, glue them down and place a pretty ribbon around it.
